Why to buy: As I have by now made abundantly clear, I am a HUGE Michael Stars fan. Recently, after my fantastic customer service experience written about here (How Michael Stars is Winning at Customer Service, Twitter, and the Little Holes in my Tops), I signed up for emails on their website (sign up here at the bottom of the page). I received an email for an extra 10% off and free shipping (score!), so I decided to check out the clearance section of their website. There were several items of interest, but I decided I had to get this High Low Tee. It is simple, but the low back made it particularly attractive. In the fall I can wear it with leggings or tight pants and it will cover my back side. When it arrived I was delighted with the fit. I have worn it a handful of times already and highly recommend it to anyone!
Because it is a OS (One Size) top, I wouldn’t suggest you order it if you have a large bust. It would likely become a crop-top. I mean, if you’re into that kind of thing, go for it! Although the OS works for my body type, it’s not for everyone!
Necklace: Macy’s (Lucky Brand Bar Necklace; Similar) Originally $35, I paid around $8
Belt: Target (Similar) Originally around $16, I paid around $8
Jeans: Walla Walla Clothing Company, Boise, ID. (Citizens of Humanity Emerson Slim Boyfriend Jean in Reflector) Originally $238, I paid $60
Shoes: Nordstrom Rack (Birkenstock Gizeh by Papillo in Green Floral) Originally $120, I paid $50
How you can do it: For sites such as Michael Stars, skip straight to the “Clearance” section. I will peruse the “Sale” section of the website, but only for a moment, and only if they’re offering a significant percentage off (ie ‘Take an extra 30% off sale items’, etc.). Once on the clearance page, sort by lowest price. This will help you find items in your price point. At the moment, there are not a lot of items on this page, so it’s easy to sift through. Be careful though, as all items in this section are final sale, so there’s no returning once you’ve pulled the trigger on a purchase.
Also, be advised that much of Michael Stars’ merchandise is OS (One Size fits all, essentially). Most items are meant to be loose and flow-y, so this concept usually works. However, as a size 6/8 or Medium, I find items fit me perfectly. If I was a little bigger or smaller, I wouldn’t be quite as convinced. Just keep this in mind when making selections.
Tip: Sign up for emails! They are always sending out sale alerts and promotions. It’s well worth the extra junk mail, and they don’t overload your inbox!
Run Down: This top was originally $88. It was marked down to $18 when I made the purchase the other day. I happened to have a 10% off coupon code plus free shipping, which took this top all the way down to just over $16!
