Why to buy: I loved these the moment I saw them! I am obsessed with the distressed quality and the look. I was just so happy that they fit! The denim doesn’t have any stretch at all, which is a bummer, but they still fit great! I can pair these with flip flops and a tank, or throw some pumps and a blazer on and suddenly I’m trendy!
Necklace: Anthropologie (Ana Luiza Necklace) Originally $88; Birthday gift from Mike!
Top: Anthropologie (Lace Peplum Tank by Meadow Blue) Originally $68, I paid $34
Shoes: Nordstrom Rack (Seychelles ‘So Far Away’ Leopard Print Calf Hair Sandal) Originally around $80, I paid around $20
How you can do it: I’ve written about DownEast Home previously, but just in case you missed it this store is amazing. They just opened about 6 months ago way too close to my house. They carry mostly home furnishings but have a small clothing/accessory section as well. Think Home Goods meets Marshall’s, but with Pottery Barn and West Elm items.
Whether you have a DownEast Home or not, when you go into these discount retailers such as Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, head first to the clearance section. The prices on the “full priced” items are not always that much better than what you would have paid in a department store. If you can focus on the clearance section, you’re most likely to find a good deal. These particular shorts weren’t in clearance, but they were the only ones of their kind in the store, and in my size, so I had to go for it!
Tip: Sign up for emails! They are always sending out sale alerts and promotions. It’s well worth the extra junk mail, and they don’t overload your inbox!
Run Down: These shorts were originally around $69.50 (educated guess as I can’t find their exact likeness online). They were in the store marked down to $19.99 when I decided to take them home!
